Avelluto's Pizzeria & Ristorante: Authentic Italian Pizza in Mission, KS

Pizza was amazing! We ordered half combo and half pepperoni. The pizza was giant, the toppings were fresh and plentiful, the sauce was was the right amount and had good flavor, and (my favorite part) the crust was delicious! All in all, it reminded me of pizza I had in Rome. Definitely recommend. The staff was really nice. The only reason I took off one star was because both of the diet soda options were broken and didn't get fixed in time for me to get a drink.

Been waiting to leave this one! Great food, great atmosphere and great people! Walked in and they were playing some italian techno music (thanks to google I was able to find the song quickly: Ivan Rizzo-tutto l'amore che ho) which gave this place a great energy and vibe. Artwork on the walls was tasteful and the place felt welcoming. Big glass display case with huge blocks of fresh mozzarella and desserts grab your attention as soon as you walk in. Pizza dough being hand tossed by an obvious professional letting you know that this place does not F around! My lady was craving pasta and I wanted pizza. Found both at this place. I asked the gentleman who took our order if there was anything else we should get that is very popular and he gave a look and then after a long pause said with a humble confidence, "honestly everything is really good!" Music to my ears! She ordered the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. Flawless. Great pasta sauce with huge noodles and a healthy portion of meet. I ordered the lasagna as a wild card as the rating was so high, and my pizza. Pizza was perfect. Nice and floppy, not thin but still thin, doughy crust that was so good I ate the whole slice(usually dont eat the crust). This pizza was not all greasy from the cheese, just the pepperonis. Perfect. I dug into the lasagna and couldn't stop eating it even though I was there for the pizza lol. Multiple layers of goodness. A great cheese pull without it being too much cheese. A perfect balance of each ingredient. Some serious love and pride went into building this. I couldn't help myself and had to thank the gentleman who I had watched hand make/toss our pizza. Quickly learned that he was the owner and had been doing this for over 30years! His dough is fermented for 4 days! That is pride! That is perfection! Only quality ingredients. Enjoyed talking with him and cant wait to go back. Wish I could Uber eats a pizza 800miles cause im craving this place just thinking about it. Can't wait to try other items on the menu! Absolutely delicious! We visited on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. It was pretty busy but we ordered with very little wait and had food at our table in less than ten minutes! Everything was delicious - we had the classic eggplant Parmesan with pasta and a big slice of pizza. That sauce is magic! Everything that their sauce touches turns to gold. Appreciated the super fast and friendly service and the incredible food! So excited to see Avelluto’s back open!

NY style pizza done right!!! I enjoy a good slice of pizza (of the whole pizza ) and Avellutos hit the spot! We went in for a cheese pizza and I ended up with a margarita pizza. They were out of basil and yet the pizza tasted fantastic. The crust was perfect (crunch but not burnt)...the sauce was the right around and not toooo "tomato-eyyy" and the cheese was on point too. The seating is a little tight but they have plenty of spots. We had to move a table around to fit 6 but that wasn't a problem. Drank an Italian beer while at it. Service was great too. Definitely recommend this place for a pie fix!

I am happy to finally find a restaurant in Kansas City that I can undoubtedly call my favorite. I have tried a little something of everything from here and will continue to do so as this place does not miss. This is a place where you HAVE to try it all because it is just that good. The meatballs are the best I have ever had. I am picky when it comes to pizza, and I will confidently say this is the best pizza you will find in Kansas City - its a 10/10. The pasta dishes are simple, yet delicious - perfect. So far my favorites have been their meatball sub and cheese pizza and I would highly recommend both, but I am sure that’s destined to change considering everything I have tried has been so dang good.

Went here last weekend for the first time. We had a NY style pizza and damn was it good. Fresh, hot and delicious. I wasn't a fan of the salad as I dont like a ton of vinegar but my wife likes it that way. Reasonable prices but you need to get there early as if you go right around 5pm the place fills up fast! Went here again yesterday. NY style pizza again with no salad and the same overall experience last time. This is my new favorite pizza place in town hands down. Hot fresh NY style pizza that can be ordered by the slice or order a whole pizza.. either way yum, yum.

We were in town visiting family and asked where a good place to eat would be and they suggested here. It is a place that you're not just going to find by looking around, somebody's going to have to tell you about it. And if they do tell you about it, I highly recommend you go. Food was fantastic. The chicken parmigiana was some of the best I've ever had and the atmosphere is just laid back and comfortable. You won't regret it.

We were sad to see Italian Delight close after the pandemic, but thrilled that it has been resurrected as Avelluto’s — and we couldn’t be happier! The food is authentically Italian and absolutely delicious, all at a great price point. The pizza leans New York–style, available by the slice or the whole pie. They don’t serve wine and have just a few beer options, but that’s easy to overlook given the quality of the food. The atmosphere is simple and unpretentious, fitting for a counter-service restaurant where you order at the front and they bring your meal to the table. Overall, Avelluto’s is a fantastic spot for all walks of life — casual, friendly, and full of flavor. Highly recommend!
